Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Recap

 

This was the first full season I got to enjoy from start to finish. I got many skins, and had many fun matches with my friends, making new ones along the way. The theme was Greek Mythology. The season started on March 8th, 2024, and ended on May 24th, 2024. I like Greek mythology but I don't think I was excited about this season as I am for the next. Some of the characters were definitely not given the skins and designs they should have been and I don't imagine this will be my favorite season but I had a lot of fun either way. 

We had to fight 4 bosses this season. Hades the god of the underworld, Cerberus the "three" headed dog, Ares the god of war, and Zeus the guy with the attitude problem. Each medallion was different this season. The Cerberus medallion made you jump around just like the waters around the underworld. The Zeus medallion gave you speed and jump. The Hades medallion gave you health when you damaged other players. Lastly, the Ares medallion gave you higher damage when sniping. My favorites were Zeus and Hades. At the beginning of the season I really loved Ares AR, but then later on came to favorite Zeus's DMR. I never liked Cerberus's medallion or his gatekeeper shotgun sadly cause he was such a good boy. 

We had a mini battle pass of Avatar the last airbender. This brought us all types of bending into the game, my favorites being air and water bending. As a result of completing the pass, you got Appa as a glider. Sadly Momo was locked behind the mini battle pass premium wall but we shall never forget him. 

Our bonus quest rewards were also Avatar themed being Korra themed from the Legends of Korra. This means we got to keep at least water bending to the very end of the season, worth it. I thought it was a cute little set of rewards including a glider, back bling of the elements, as well as an emote showing Korra's powers. 

We had weapons like water bending, Zeus's lighting, wings, spier rifles, and chains of hades. Some of these weapons I will not miss, others I will. I am really surprised they got rid of the sniper rifles, streamers absolutely demolished people with those rifles, we will see how this next season plays out. 

I have not heard much lore on what happened to the gods in conclusion with this season. Though we did lose places like fencing fields, snooty steps and my dear friend Fluffy's favorite house on the water. This was only my second season, which means I have no idea or concept of how much it will change with many seasons to come. 

I finished this season at level 223. I am going to miss this season though it has not been my favorite, and seeing how the new season looks so far I'm not sure that one will be either, but it will hold a special place in my heart. From the friends I made to the people I killed. During this season I reached Affiliate, actually right at the start, on twitch. Fortnite has become such an important part of my life, not because of the murder or the weapons, but because of the people it has brought into my life, as well as the better relationships I've created because of it. I don't see myself leaving Fortnite for a long time if ever, now I just need to come up with a tattoo for it to add to my gaming leg.
