Why You Shouldn't Have a Auto Subscription to Fortnite Crew

 

Now wait a second before you go all up on me, I like crew and I have many crew skins and plan on getting more. This is not about the payment itself this is about the auto pay/subscription part of the crew. 

Each time payment is taken out they grant you 1,000 VBucks. If you paid for the battle pass then the 950 VBucks is refunded as well. Then you get the skins of the month on the first of the month. This means you have 30 days for your crew pack every time you pay. And no matter what day you sign up for crew it will over lap with the next month.

I discovered this because I hate things being auto-taken out of my account. This means every time I "subscribed" I canceled it immediately just to get the month's rewards. With the first one I purchased, I decided to do that and if I liked the next skin I would buy it again. I am a very frugal person so unless I loved the skin I didn't want to pay for it. (for example September 2024 crew skin is adorable and I will be getting her.) 

I then noticed that at the beginning of the next month, I got the next skin. I looked into it and tried it again a few months later, realizing that it always gives you two months' skin.

This being said if you wanted every crew skin, for the lowest price, you should not have the subscription running. I will admit it is simpler and you do receive the 1,000 VBucks with each payment, I don't personally need that many VBucks. I do spend money on the game periodically but not enough for that.

With that, if you rebought the crew every other month you would still receive every skin for half the price if of course you even want everyone. I personally buy it when I love the skin and receive an extra free skin which sometimes I like and sometimes I don't. But especially after realizing this, I will never turn on the subscription. But that does not mean I will not buy Crew because some are really cute and in my head (you know, girl math) You get the same amount of VBucks if you just bought them straight up so the skins are free.
