6 Cheap Dinner Dates

I don't think I need to explain the reason behind the “cheap” part. if you're like me and you'd rather stay in and eat while watching Rick and Morty, you need to have a few ideas on foods you might both enjoy. Note that none of these are “fancy,” they are just good, cheap foods for a perfect in-front-of-the-tv dinner. If you are just ever out of ideas on things to make for your lovely partner for dinner, here are six ideas.

1. Spaghetti
This is a classic romantic dinner, but also, if homemade, can be very cheap. Just make sure you season the sauce well. My boyfriend makes the most absolutely delicious spaghetti, definitely convince yours to make it. With so many of different types of sauces and pastas, you will never get tired of it. All you really need is a good pasta sauce and noodles. Some wonderful inexpensive additions include cheese, meatballs, and garlic bread.

2. Nachos
This is a very fun and cheap meal you can make. This is actually my favorite meal. The best part of foods like this is the fact that every single person can go down the same line of food and create something to their liking that is different from everyone else's. I always have at least meat, cheese, and chips. But most of the time I get olives, pico de gallo, salsa, guacamole, or sour cream, or at least one or two of those. My boyfriend will put an unholy amount of hot sauce and even tried using hot Cheetos. Again the amazing thing about this is the amount of stuff that you can put on it.

3. Sandwiches
Now, this might seem like an interesting choice on my part, but I do not suggest making a “regular” sandwich. My suggestion is getting sandwich insides, so like; meat, cheese, a condiment (personal favorite is honey mustard), lettuce and so on. But we ain't no sliced bread kind of people. What you can do is go to a bakery and get a French bread loaf (Walmart sells them for a dollar!) and slice that open, sub-style, and make your sandwiches. Then you can struggle to fit that whole sandwich in your mouth.

4. Meatball Subs
This probably the messiest home food you can make, but absolutely delicious. Simply get those cheap frozen meatballs and some sauce. Heat that up in a saucepan, season it to your liking, and warm up some bakery bread. You can use the wonderful french bread, or just some small loaves. Cut them both down the middle, and fill them with meatballs and cheese. Watch as your partner struggles.

5. Pizza
No, I absolutely do not mean frozen! Frozen pizza can absolutely be one of the cheapest meals, but that is not what I am talking about today. Making fresh/homemade pizza. All you need is dough (which you can buy pre-made), sauce, some cheese, and a few of your favorite toppings. As a note, two fresh white mushrooms are like 0.62 cents, like cheap as hell. This is a fun activity as well if you make your boyfriend always cook for you. You can work together and make wonderful food together, but also give you time to question your partner's taste.

6. Burgers
Burgers are a classic sharing food. You can make your own and work together while tending to a fire out back. It's a perfect summer evening meal. Find yourself roasting marshmallows and feeding them to each other. One food that doesn't seem that romantic can be with the right person and the right sized marshmallows.
